  1. A number of users have reported that they are experiencing a
  2. number of "unrecoverable application errors" when Windows
  3. Express is installed as their shell.  This problem occurs
  4. occasionally when exiting the last application and returning
  5. to the Express menu.

  7. This problem seems to be related to how Windows 3.0 interacts
  8. with a shell application.  The default setting in Express
  9. "preferences" is for Windows Express to "maximize automatically."
  10. It appears that this maximizing action causes an unrecoverable
  11. application error occasionally on some systems.

  13. If you are experiencing this problem, change the Express preferences
  14. setting to never "maximize automatically."  This avoids the
  15. Windows 3.0 interaction problem with Express.
